A new Android device revealed by HTC has a metallic ‘her' design, and is the most affordable one the company has ever released.

The ‘One X9' has been announced in China, and is being sold for 2,399 yuan, roughly $370.

This new metal phone has a 5.5-inch, 1080p display, and 32GB of storage.

HTC's One X9 is equipped with a MediaTek X10 octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM, according to Android Central. 

Storage can be expanded upon using a microSD card.

The phone also has a 3,000mAh battery, along with a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an UltraPixel front-facing camera.

It could compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei P20 Pro specs, Oppo and Vivo, according to Engadget. 

Earlier this year, the gloves came off in the battle between Apple and HTC over the design of the X9's predecessor, the One A9.

An executive from the Taiwanese firm has said that it was the first phone manufacturer to make a metal clad phone and Apple is the one that is copying its designs, not the other way round.

The comments were made in response to early reviews of the One A9 that accused HTC of building a phone that was a 'blatant ripoff' of Apple's iPhone. 



Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, HTC's president of North Asia Jack Tong is reported as having said: 'We're not copying. We made a uni-body metal-clad phone in 2013.  



Earlier this year, the gloves came off in the battle between Apple and HTC over the design of the X9's predecessor, the One A9
